In Memory

James Lykins

James Doyle Lykins, 53, of Eddy passed away on Dec. 16, 2006. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Lykins' house, 448 Moss Road, Eddy, Texas. God now has to share his seat watching the Dallas Cowboys through the hole in the roof of the Texas Stadium with one of the team's biggest fans. Never shirking from duty, James served his country in the United States Air Force with a laugh and a smile that touch all around him and a kind word and helping hand. The family has lost a loving husband, father and grandfather, but through knowing him gained his strength to carry on. He would expect no less and we honor his memory toward his expectations for us all.

James was the manager for The Room Store in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae Howell and Chambers Lykins; and his sister, Barbara Lykins. He is survived by his wife, Gilda Lykins; sons, Christopher and wife, Courtney Lykins of Seguin, Patrick Lykins of Waco, and Aaron Lykins of Temple; daughter, Kimberly Lykins of Belton; two grandchildren, Cole Lykins of Seguin, Texas, and Fox Lykins of Temple; brothers, Rollins Lykins of Temple, Ricky and wife, Patricia Lykins of Waco, and A.C. and wife, Shirley of Caldwell, Texas; and sisters, Bonnie Cole and husband, Richard of Temple and Virginia Knight of Temple. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. October 27, 1953 - December 16, 2006
